Our History

Stringfellow Family Painting is owned and operated by Tom Stringfellow. The following is the story of how Tom built and developed one of the leading Sacramento based painting companies around.

In 1987 after earning his contractors license (license #508355), Tom started a brand new painting company known as New Horizon Painting. Tom applied his years of painting, his extensive knowledge of management, and all the techniques his brother ( a skilled painter) had taught him into building up his new business.

The following year, Tom’s brother, Ken Stringfellow came aboard. New Horizon had become one of the top painting companies around. Owning and operating a painting company had been a dream of the two brothers, and now it was a reality. Ken had many years of painting techniques to offer and it added that extra something to New Horizon.

Through the years Tom grew New Horizon Painting. As it grew, it became more and more commercially geared. So Tom decided that it was time to build a residentially based painting company. With the passing of Tom’s brother Ken, Tom vowed to hold true to the same values, passions, quality and professionalism that Kenneth brought to New Horizon.

SFP opened its doors in 2002, in tribute to the passing of Kenneth Hanson Stringfellow III. SFP, through strong reputation, has become a leader in the industry and has earned the status as the number one California based residential and commercial painting company.

SFP, combined with New Horizon Painting, celebrates 20 years of success. Family owned and operated, Stringfellow Family Painting is proud to continue the traditions and reliable service that the late Kenneth Stringfellow worked so diligently to provide.
